Business Oregon is the State of Oregon's economic development agency. The department is the lead agency for business retention, business expansion, and business attraction into Oregon. Business Oregon assists business with programs and funding targeted at small entrepreneurs to Oregon's largest traded sector businesses. Business Oregon offers loan fund financing, administers tax incentives and grants, offers export promotion assistance, and helps fund technical support partners such as the Small Business Development Centers (SBDC), and Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP). Oregon's Certification Office for Business Inclusion and Diversity (COBID) is also housed in Business Oregon along with the Oregon Arts Commission and the Oregon Cultural Trust. Business Oregon also supports innovation and entrepreneurship through the Oregon Innovation Council, the Oregon Growth Board, Oregon Entrepreneurs Network, and the Rural Opportunity Initiative.
Business Oregon supports communities with a number of infrastructure financing programs including the Special Public Works Fund, Water / Wastewater Fund, the Safe Drinking Water Revolving Loan Fund, and the Community Development Block Grant program. Business Oregon also works with communities and business on Brownfield Redevelopment, and the department promotes expansion of telecommunications into rural Oregon through the Oregon Broadband Office. Business Oregon offers financing for seismic rehabilitation of schools and other public buildings, as well as support for Oregon ports through the Ports Planning and marketing grants and a revolving loan fund.
